1972 Ovation classical guitar

It's rare.
It's a collector's item.
It was my first serious guitar.

This Ovation Classic model 1123-4 was made when Ovation was still small enough to hand-type the registration tag found inside the body ... and there just weren't many of this model made to begin with.

This is a beautiful instrument! It's in great condition, with very little fretboard wear and just a tiny ding in the front (lower-right "corner" in the surface lacquer). I still have the original documentation and a value certification by authorized Ovation servicer Mark Erlewine.

I've owned it since 1972 when I was training to be a famous classical guitar player or the next Greg Lake or Bonnie Raitt or something. Well, the training didn't take and I never gave Lake or Raitt a run for their money, but at least the guitar has stayed with me.

Alas, two carpal-tunnel surgeries took their toll on my ability to play well so I'll probably sell it to someone who will love her as much as I have. But in the mean time, I still like looking at her.
